Fête des neiges de Montréal | January 21 to February 5, 2012

La Fête des neiges, Montreal’s big family winter, festival is back again at Parc Jean-Drapeau! For the past 25 years kids in the city have been enjoying this ice extravaganza that includes:

  • tube sliding
  • zip-lining
  • boot or ice hockey
  • skating along the river and more.

Tip: Check the Open/Closed website before you leave home to make sure festivities haven’t been canceled due to poor weather and which activities will be available.

Tip: Skip the hassle of parking and take the Metro if you can: Parc Drapeau station. With Montreal’s “Family Outings” promo, public transit fare for your kids (up to five of them, ages 12 and under) is free with each paying adult.

If you need to drive, parking is $15 for the day. You can also park at Namur, Radisson, Montmorency and Longueuil metros and use public transport to get to Parc Drapeau.

Tip: Wear your baby or toddler if you can in a soft structured carrier that can easily be packed into backpack. You won’t want to babysit your stroller while having fun & the metro is no fun with one of those bulky things. There will be lockers available to store your goods.

Tip: There will be food sold at the site.

Admission is free!

Fees for rentals:

Snowshoes: $6 for 2 hours
Ice skates: 6 for 2 hours
Ice skate sharpening: $5
Luges: $3
Inner tubes: $10
